How to i give the fish oil tablets to my dog?
April 23, 2010
Do i give it to her myself through the mouth or do i break it in her food and let her eat it like that herself?
Are the fish oil capsules made for human beans or for dogs? Or are the same capsuls that are made for human beans used for dogs aswell?
Just put it in her food. She’s swallow it. Or, you can put it in some cheese and feed it to her.
you could always break a hotdog a little, but not all the way, and then slip the tablet in, and give it to your dog.
Mine eat the capsules as treats
I put the fish oil capsules in the food and mix it in… not sitting on top.
If the dog doesn’t eat it, I take my left hand and life the upper teeth, and use my right hand to put the pill way down back on the back of his tongue… then I hold his chin up so he doesn’t spit it out.
He’s learned by experience that he ALWAYS loses if he fights, so he just gives up and gives in.
Mine also eat them as treats. If I pick up the bottle and it rattles, they all come running. Just cut a little slit on the side to let a little dribble out and let her lick it off. Within a few days, you’ll probably be able to just to give it to her whole. They love ‘em!
The easiest way to get _any_ pill into a dog is to stuff it inside a gob of peanut butter (if you have a peanut allergy, Cheez Whiz works just as well).
You can also put it in her food, assuming she reliably cleans her plate.
My dog gobbles them up and chews it .
I order hers from a pet supply place.
Don’t forget to sing the song…
She’s got a Xylophone on her backbone
And bongos on her b u t t ….
That’s the official fish pill song…around my house.
For a full version … email me and I’ll tell you where it’s from.
wrap in a piece of cheese, gulp…gone.
May be the same for people and dogs, but may not. Don’t take her pills or give her yours.
